Though the police restriction around BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan political office had been relaxed a bit on Monday night, it was tightened again at the daybreak on Tuesday.
Talking to UNB, BNP media wing member Shamsuddin Didar said the water cannons and police vans had been removed from the north side of the office near Khalda’s residence after 9pm last night, but those were brought back there again early in the morning.
The main gate has been locked again, while the entry to the office restricted, he said adding that the police deployment has again been reinforced since morning.
The BNP chief is being accompanied by some Mohila Dal leaders inside the Gulshan political office.
Meanwhile, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is yet to come out of the Jatiya Press Club premises after his overnight stay there as a good number of police personnel cordoned off the three entrances of the club.
Fakhrul remained confined to the Jatiya Press Club since Monday afternoon as Jubo League activists stopped him from leaving the club.
Having failed to come out of her office to join her alliance’s planned rally in the city, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Monday said a countrywide blockade will continue until they come up with a fresh decision.
