Opposition leader Raushan Ershad on Monday said the Jatiya Party ministers would quit the cabinet soon.

“Top Jatiya Party leaders are holding discussions with the party chairman over the matter. We’ll resign to play a role of real opposition party,” she said while addressing a press briefing at the media centre of the parliament.

Replying to a question over barricade put on BNP chief’s Gulshan office, Raushon Ershad said that there is nothing to say if the sand laden trucks are parked in front of Khaleda Zia’s house for her security.

“Rather I support the government if the move is taken based on information on her (Khaleda Zia’s) security. But I do not support the matter if it was done for the sake of democracy. We don’t know why the trucks are kept there,” said Raushon, also a senior presidium member of the Jatiya Party.
