All kinds of rally banned in capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Monday banned all kinds of rally, procession and meeting in the capital ahead of Awami League and BNP rallies on Monday.

Deputy commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said, the decision will come into force from 5pm and it will be effective until further notice.

The BNP is scheduled to hold rally on January 5 as the 'democracy killing day' while the Awami League is set to celebrate 'victory day of democracy.'

Police has imposed the ban to avert any anarchy in Dhaka.
