The BNP has expressed its firm determination to hold a rally in the capital on January 5 despite denial of permission.
“Police denied us permission to hold the rally. But, we clearly want to say that we’ve to hold the programme,” he said.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the Joint Secretary General of BNP, expressed the determination at a programme marking the founding anniversary Chhatra Dal in the capital on Thursday evening.
“The government has buried the democracy for the sake of one person’s interest through holding January 5 election. Now they are saying that the will celebrate the anniversary of the mockery,” he said.
Earlier, in the afternoon, a BNP team went to the Police Commissioner’s Office and talked to the assistant police commissioner over holding a rally on January 5.
