COX'S BAZAR, Dec 31: Miscreants hacked an aged man to death at Chandli Para area under Sabrang union in Teknaf upazila of the district in the early hours of Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Ali Azgar, 50, son of late Dalilur Rahman of the said area.
Union Parishad member of Sabrang no. 1 ward Mohammad Yunus said being informed, he, along with police, went to the spot, and identified the body with the help of the locals. The body was lying beside a road and bore hacking marks on its neck, the UP member added.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Md Ataur Rahman Khandaker said police were deployed in the area, while an autopsy of the body was under process.
