Constable detained with phensidyl

KURIGRAM, Dec 31: A police constable was held with 10 bottles of phensidyl from in front of Mitali Cinema Hall under Kurigram district town on Tuesday at 11pm.
The arrested is identified as Mamun Chowdhury, a constable of Rangpur police reserve force, and a resident of Mekurtari village under Razarhat upazila in Kurigram district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kurigram Sadar police station Abdul Baten Mia, confirming the incident, said Mamun came to Kurigram without taking leave from his workplace. Police recovered 10 bottles of phensidyl after searching the bag he was carrying.
Later, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kurigram Sadar police station, as plaintiff, lodged a case against him with the police station under Narcotics Control Act.
