NOAKHALI, Dec 31: Police filed two cases with Sudharam police station (PS) on Tuesday morning, accusing 50 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat and more than hundred unknown others following the death of the female schoolteacher Shamsunnahar on Monday.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sudharam PS Masud Alam, as plaintiff, lodged the two cases in Special Power Act and murder incident. Noakhali Police Super (SP) Ilias Shorif confirmed the matter.
On Monday last, during the day-long hartal of 18-party led alliance, Shamsunnahar, a teacher of Towhid Laboratory School at Agargaon of Dhaka, was killed when pickets threw brick at her in Maijdee Poura Bazaar area of the district town. The deceased hailed from Poragachha village under Ramgoti upazila of Laxmipur.
