Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury was on Tuesday sent to jail in connection with former finance minister SAMS Kibria killing case.Habiganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Rokeya Akhtar passed the order upon his surrender before her court in the morning.
The Court issued an arrest warrant against 11 people, including BNP leaders Harris Chowdhury, Gaus and Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury in the case on December 21.
On January 27, 2005, four people, including Kibria, were killed in a grenade attack while addressing a rally in Habiganj.
