A four-year old boy fell into a 300-foot deep abandoned hole at Khilgaon Colony ground in the capital Friday afternoon.

Fire Service assistant director (Dhaka) Rafiqul Islam confirmed that the boy was still alive at 7pm as they heard his screams .
 
He is being supplied with foods and oxygen, he said.

The boy was identified as Jihad, son of M  Nasir, a guard of Motijheel Model School and College. He fell into the deep hole of an abandoned water pump while playing with his friends at about 4:30pm.

Shahjahanpur thana OC Mehedi Hasan confirmed the matter.

Three firefighting units are working to rescue the child.
