Avik and Avaya to perform at IGCC in Gulshan

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in association with Asian Paints and Marico Bangladesh is going to organise an evening of Rabindra Sangeet by promising Bangladeshi exponents Avik Deb and Avaya Dutta. The musical soiree will be held on December 26 at the IGCC, Gulshan in the city.
Avik Deb is a promising upcoming Rabindra Sangeet artist of Bangladesh who has been training at "Shurer Dhara", the prestigious cultural organisation of this country, for the last 5 years under the tutelage of Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet legend, Mrs. Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya. He also received training in Rabindra Sangeet from Bangladeshi stalwarts like Mr. Sadi Mohammad, Mrs. Mita Haq, Mrs. Aditi Mohosin etc. Mr. Deb is a member of the Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Shanstha and Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Sammelon Parishod. He is the proud recipient of the "Prothom Maan" in the competition organized by the Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Sammelon Parishod in 2009 besides winning the First Prize in a televised Rabindra Sangeet competition organized by the British Council in 2011. He won the First Prize for his Rabindra Sangeet renditions at the Tagore Festival at Darlington Hall, Devon, in the UK. Avik has also presented Rabindra Sangeet in London and Ireland. He is a regular performer for Bangladesh TV and Radio while being an accomplished architect.
Avaya Dutta is a versatile exponent of Rabindra Sangeet. She has trained in Rabindra Sangeet under eminent exponents of the genre such as Wahidul Haque, Sanjida Khatun, Rashbihari Chakravarti, Mita Haque, Partha Sarathi Shikdar, Laisa Ahmed Lisa and Ashim Dutta.
Dutta completed her six years' course on Rabindra Sangeet at Chhayanaut where she achieved First Class in the Final Certificate Examination. She was also affiliated to Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammilan Parishad and achieved First Grade in the national competition organized by the Parishad in 2002. She is currently working as an Assistant Teacher at the prestigious cultural institution "Chhayanaut Sangeet Biddyatan" in Dhaka. Ms Avaya Dutta is an enlisted regular artist in Bangladesh Television. She is also associated with Action Aid Bangladesh.
