
Home secretary Mozammel Haque Khan on Monday confirmed that Indian foreign ministry sent a letter in this regard.
‘Indian foreign ministry, in a letter sent last week, said they have asked police to take all necessary measures to extradite Noor Hossain, home secretary said.
In the letter, they also wanted to know the time and place of his extradition, he added.
On June 14, Noor Hossain was arrested along with three of his accomplices at Kaliakair under Baguhati police station in India.
Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted on April 27 and their bodies were recovered from the Shitalakkha River on April 30.
Nazrul's wife filed an abduction case against Nur on April 28.
India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj came to Bangladesh in a three-day official visit on June 25.
During her visit, India's external affairs minister held talks with her Bangladesh counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on bilateral issues between the two countries.
In the meeting, Sushma said the Indian government would positively consider Noor Hossain’s repatriation issue.
