Prime Minister's information advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury  on Saturday underscored the need for formulating a separate wage structure for electronic media as electronic journalism is flourishing fast in the country.

The PM’s advisor laid the importance while exchanging views with journalists at Khulna Press Club (CPC) on Saturday.

Urging the journalists to refrain from disseminating false and fabricated information, he said, “Freedom of media is much needed for objective journalism. But, intentionally disseminating false information can’t be called objective journalism.”

Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said that a broadcast policy would be formulated soon.

Begum Ferdousi Ali, Prtess Club general secretary SM Zahid Hossain, Mahbubul Alam Sohag and Anwarul Islam Kazal also spoke at the programme, presided over by Khulna Press Club president Farukh Ahmed.
