Shakib Al Hasan confirmed a team to play for in the KFC T20 Big Bash League in Australia, but he didn't disclose yet the team's name.
Though Shakib didn't inform yet, Australia media said, Shakib will likely to play in the Adelaide Strikers. He played in the Adelaide Strikers last time. However, nothing has been confirmed yet by the player himself or the team.
The ban on Shakib Al Hasan regarding participating in foreign leagues was lifted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on 4th December. That decision opened the door for him to participate in Australia's Big Bash League.
Though, Shakib worried about whether he would get a team or not. He said, "I am participating in the league. The team is confirmed but I am yet to sign with them. God blessing, everyone will hear something positive within one or two days. I don't want to inform anyone without confirming the team first."
"It will be a great experience for me ahead of the World Cup. The team are scheduled to travel two weeks before the event. If I can go there four weeks before the tournament, it will help me. I am hopeful it will be a good experience," Shakib told the media.
The confirmation means that Legends of Rupganj will miss their main weapon in the Super-six round of the Dhaka Premier League. The Super-six round is scheduled to begin on December 24.
"Super league has always been entertaining. Each game is challenging for the cricketers. And, I think this is a good platform for the cricketers to perform well and cement a place in the world cup squad or to retain their form by performing," Shakib added.
