Kanchpur, Narayanganj: Raising question about keeping RAB's additional director Col Ziaul Ahsan in service, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia asked how he remained in his post in spite of his 'involvement' in Narayanganj killings.

"In fact, only seven people were not killed by RAB in Narayanganj, rather 11 people were killed," she said. "And, Col Zia was involved in the killings."

Khaleda Zia made the allegation while speaking at a public meeting at Balur Math in Kanchpur under Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj district on Saturday afternoon.

The BNP chief said, "Everyone says that seven people were killed in Narayanganj. But, 11 people were killed and the government was involved in the killings."

She also observed that Col Zia was not being arrested because all the information about forced disappearances and killings would come out if he was arrested.

Khaleda Zia further said, "Col Zia is incompetent to remain in his post. He will have to be removed from his post as early as possible. If the government officials lose their jobs on charge of attending a meeting with me, why the killer Col Zia would remain in his position?"

She also demanded the trial of Col Zia by removing him from his post.

The BNP Chairperson alleged that the public administration was being politicised. "Good government officials are being removed from service by bringing false charges against them," she said.
