TRATIONAL TOOL STILL IN ACTION: The 'dheki' is a traditional tool to husk rice from paddy. In earlier times a dheki was part and parcel of village life in the country. Nowadays, the dheki has almost disappeared with the advent of technologies that require less physical labour. Avoiding the onslaught of modern mechanical rice mills, the dheki is still found in some rural houses as the photo taken from Naoda village in Jessore recently, shows. Photo: Shapla Rahman
