The students of 32/B batch of Dhaka International University's law department (DIU) celebrated Rag day at Dr MI Patwari Auditorium on the university campus on December 8 marking the end of their academic life.
Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, vice chairman, board of trustees of the university, inaugurated the event. The day formally began with the distribution of t-shirts among the students.
After lunch, a discussion was held at the auditorium with Dr SQ Patwari, Chairman, board of trustees of the university, in the chair, said a press release.
Barrister Shameem in his speech as chief guest said the students of the department will establish themselves in their respective careers and retain the goodwill of the university.
The day came to an end with a cultural function where students coming from different batches performed songs, dance, and drama.
Among others, Assoc Prof Md Rofiqul Islam, registrar, the DIU, Assoc Prof QMH Supan, adviser, Faculty of Law, Assoc Prof ATM Mahbubur Rahman, chairman, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Asst Prof Mili Rahman, chairperson, Department of English, Md Abu Tareque, proctor (acting), the DIU, faculty members and guardians were present at the programme.
