The students of Rajshahi Government College on Monday staged demonstration protesting the deaths of their three fellows in Sunday's road accident.

The agitated students took to the street around 10am demanding introducing college's own transport facilities instead of hired vehicles.

They also blocked Saheb Bazar Zero Point area, disrupting traffic for some time .

But, police foiled their bid to bring out a protest porcession in the city.

Meanwhile, the students alleges that police intercepted them from entering into college when they came to participate a mourning programme.

Additional police have been deployed in the area to avert any untoward situation.

Boalia thana OC Noor Hossain Khandker said they have obstructed the students to avoid any unwanted incident.

The college announced a four-day mourning to pay respect to the dead student from Monday .

On Sunday, three students were killed when a bus carrying them collided head-on with another bus and fell into a roadside ditch.

The dead were identified as Mahmuda Haque Tania, 20, Sharmin Akhter, 21, and Seema, 21.
