BNP joint secretary general Amanullah Aman on Friday said that leaders of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu)and All Party Students Unity (Apsu) of the 90's in a convention would take oath soon to oust the government.
The former Ducsu vice president informed this at a press briefing at the National Press Club in the afternoon.
“The Awami League government has hammered its last nail in the coffin of democracy through holding January 5 elections. The government has established a fascist rule worst than the autocratic regime of Ershad. So, this kind of situation could not be allowed to continue,” he said.
“We’ve decided to hold a students’ convention in the capital consisting of former and incumbent student leaders at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh on December 18 like one on October 1, 1990. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will attend the programme as chief guest,” Aman informed journalists.
Reiterating his firm vow, the BNP leader said that they want to return home only after toppling the government under the leadership of Khaleda Zia.
