State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government has detailed information about the officials and employees who held a secret meeting with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
"Action will be taken against them after investigation," he said.
The State Minister was replying to questions of reporters after inaugurating the Chhatra League's 'Save Campus, Clean Campus' programme at Tejgaon Government College in the capital on Saturday morning.
It may be recalled that some former and present bureucrats joined in a meeting with Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan residence in the capital late at night on Thursday. The news of the meeting was published in the media on the following day. But, BNP claimed that no such meeting was held at Gulshan political office of the BNP Chairperson.
However, several leaders including Khaleda Zia's press secretary admitted about taking place a meeting indirectly claiming that law was not violated in this regard.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "The names and addresses of those who attended the meeting with BNP Chairperson at her Gulshan office have been received. Investigation is going on what kind of crimes they had committed. Legal action will be taken against them after necessary investigation."
The State Minister also claimed that detectives were aware of the secret meeting. "The detectives had no failure in this regard," he said.
Earlier, he told the Chhatra League leaders and activists to keep their mind clean apart from cleaning the campus.
