Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel on Saturday arrested a woman impersonating Sheikh Rehana, the sister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, while trying to misappropriate money through forgery.
RAB-3 members arrested the accused-- Marzia Jannati Nupa, 31-- from a house at Banasree in the capital in the morning. Nupa is working as a senior manager of Islami Insurance Ltd.
They also arrested Marzia's husband MA Quashem.
He said Nupa tried to embezzle money making phone calls to the Bangladesh Bank Governor giving her false identity.
At a press conference later in the day, RAB officials said Nupa, on November 30, phoned Central Bank Governor Atiur Rahman and asked him to provide financial assistance to two insurance employees.
