
At the same time, a 16-year-old Bangladeshi boy was arrested by BSF from the same border.
The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Shah Alam, son of Sher Ali of Sunki Basti under Baliadangi upazila, while the arrested Saiful Isalm is the son of Shamsul Haque of village Mominpara under the same upazila.
Both the incidents were confirmed by Director 30 BGB Thakurgaon Lt. Col. Tushar Bin Yusuf on Thursday night after a flag meeting held on Thursday evening.
He said at the flag meeting BGB requested the BSF to return the dead body and the arrested Bangladeshi.
In the flag meeting Director 30 BGB Lt. Col. Tushar Bin Yusuf led the Bangladesh side and Sector Commander D. Kishen Dani of Sonamoti BSF Battalion led the Indian side.
Lt. Col. Tushar Bin Yusuf said the body of Shah Alam would be returned by BSF at 5.30 pm Friday.
BGB said when Shah Alam and Saiful were intruding India on Wednesday evening through border Pillar No. 382/2 the BSF personnel opened fire.
In the firing Shah Alam was killed and Saiful was caught by BSF.
