Deprived leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on Monday again took face to face position at the party's Naya Paltan headquarters in the capital creating huge panic in the area.
Sources said several hundreds of the JCD leaders and activists gathered in front of the party office on Monday and chanted slogans creating panic situation. But after few minutes the deprived activists, who did not get any position in the newly formed JCD central body, left the place.
On Sunday, five crude bombs went off in front of the BNP. It is considered that the blasts might have been carried out by dissident activists of the JCD over formation of the new central committee. Razib Ahsan, President of JCD (new committee), alleged that a group of misguided leaders and activists of the JCD with the help of Jubo League and Chhatra League cadres are creating panic among the party to tarnish the BNP image.
On October 14, the BNP Chairperson approved a 201-member partial committee of the party's student wing with Rajib Ahsan as its president and Akramul Hasan the general secretary, triggering demonstration by the deprived leaders and activists.
