T20 Corporate Cricket kicks off on Friday

MARCEL Fourth T20 Corporate Cricket Tournament will begin on Friday (November 14) at the Dhaka Residential Model School Ground with the participation of 28 renowned corporate houses of Bangladesh.
Planning Minister and President of International Cricket Council AHM Mustafa Kamal is expected to inaugurate the tournament as the chief guest at 11am. The matches will be held in three different venues of six fields in the capital. The three venues are Dhaka Residential Model School, Lalmatia School ground and Mohammadpur Eidgah Ground.
Twenty eight teams, split into seven groups, will take part in the tournament. The best two teams from each group will move to the second round. The highest run scorer from the rest of the teams of seven groups will also qualify for the second round. The second round matches will be held in knock-out system among 16 teams. The final of the tournament will be held on December 20.
The total estimated budget of the tournament around 16 lakhs and the champion and runner-up team will be awarded Taka 1, 00,000 lakh and Taka 50,000 respectively as prize money.
In this regards a press conference was held on Saturday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association conference room to give all the details of the meet. Abul Ahsan Ahmed, chief coordinator of the tournament, Zahid Hasan, executive director, Waltonbd, Wafi SM Khan, senior executive director, Green Delta Insurance Company Limited, Tapas Kumar Mondal, managing director of Coca-Cola International Beverages (Pvt.) Limited, among others were present on the occasion.
