
"Earlier, we had a plan to hold the examination in mid-December. But now we have decided to hold it in February for various reasons," said PSC Chairman Ikram Ahmed.
"A record number of 2,44,107 applicants will appear in the test this year which is the highest in BCS examinations' history," he added.
This year the BCS preliminary examination will be of 200 marks instead of 100 while the duration will be two hours against the one hour in the past.
Through the 35th BCS exams, the PSC will recruit candidates against 455 posts in general cadre, 484 posts in technical cadre, 829 in education cadre and 35 posts in general education.
In the 34th BCS examinations, there were a total of 2,21,575 candidates, while in the 33rd BCS examinations, the total candidates were 1,93,059.
