Dipak Kumar Biswas, son of Martyr Surendranath Biswas and grandson of Martyr Nishikanta, today submitted his deposition against Engineer Abdul Jabbar, accusing the fugitive of ordering the killing of his loved ones.
Dipak, 62, a retired school teacher from village Noli under Mothbaria Police Station in Pirojpur, submitted his deposition as the 18th prosecution witness (PW).
"Jabbar, chairman of Mothbaria unit of Peace Committee, along with his followers raided our village on May 22, 1971. He shoot Sokhanath Khorati and asked his followers to shot at my father and his uncle Nishikanta. Following his order, Razakar cadres gunned them down. They killed 11 more people in our village including Jitendra Nath Biswas, Ganesh Chandra Biswas and Napal Chandra Mistry. They looted at least 60 houses in our village including ours and later set fire to those," said Dipak.
After his short deposition, Advocate Mohammad Abul Hasan, state-appointed counsel for the fugitive accused, cross-examined him. After the conclusion of cross-examination, the ICT-1 adjourned the hearing till on Thursday. ?BSS
