Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, one of the counsels of death-row war criminal Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, said that it will be illegal if the government executes him before disposal of the petition.

“If the government executes him before the SC releases its full verdict, it will be illegal” Hossain said this while addressing a press conference at the SC Bar Association auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.

“As per section 105 of the constitution, there is a scope to file a review petition against the apex court verdict,” the defence counsel said.

He also said we have submitted a review application in order to get justice. We will file the review petition after getting the full copy of the verdict.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam opined that the full copy of the verdict is  not necessary for the jail authority to execute the war criminal as the apex court has only upheld the tribunal's verdict.
