GAZIPUR: A readymade garment worker was killed as a tank lorry hit him on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Mastarbari bus stand area of the city on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Suman,28, worker of BG Garments in Sreepur and a resident of Daria village in Sadar upazila of Netrakona district.

Quoting locals, police said the lorry dashed Suman while he was crossing the highway at about 10:00 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Local people caught Jahir Uddin, driver of the lorry and handed him over to police.
