
Formalities of the wedding was completed around 4:40pm in the bride's house 'Munshibari' at village Mirakhola under Gollai union in Chandina upazila of the district.
The bridegroom's procession reached the bride's village home. Mujibul Huque accompanied by Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan and over 50 MPs reached the bride's village home around 3pm.
Earlier at about 11am, bridegroom Mujibul Huque's motorcade left his Minto Road official residence in Dhaka for Comilla along with more than 700 people. They offered Jumma prayers at Shahidnagar Jame Mosque in Daudkandi. Later, they reached the bride's village home.

Relatives of the bride were found very happy receiving a minister as their new bridegroom. They greeted the minister with bouquets of flowers.
The guests were served Mutton Kacchi Biriyani, chicken roasts, jaali kebab, Burhani, cold drinks and jorda. The bridegroom was served a whole mutton roast, which is locally known as 'Doruj.' Renowned chef of Comilla Club Milton Rozario cooked all the food.
Meanwhile, special duty policemen, mobile teams of police, DSB, traffic police and detective police remained vigilant to ensure the security of the VIPs at the bride's house. Plainclothed policemen also worked to ensure the security of the guests.
