The State Minister for Energy Nasrul Hamid on Thursday instructed the stake holders to remove hanging cables in the city by seven days at a meeting held at Bidduyt bhavan.
Hamid said hanging cable is risky and it hampers the beauty of the city also. He instructed the stake holders, the BTRC, BTCL, Internet service provider (ISP), Dhaka Power distribution company, Dhaka Electricity Supply Authority, to remove hanging cables within seven days.
Earlier, Energy Advisor to the PM Tawfiq e elahi also instructed to remove hanging cableS but the cable operators created a movement against the step then the government was bound to withdraw the instruction. Power Secretary Monowar Islam and the representative of the stake holders were present at the meeting.
