Jessore, Oct 29 : Jessore Juvenile Correc-tion Centre's two inmates and its superintendent were injured as police fired inside the centre on Wednesday.
Following the firing, all eight policemen positioned at the centre at Jessore's Pulerhat, were withdrawn in the evening.
Centre sources claimed that Habilder Mostafa scolded one of its inmates, Rabbi, on Wednesday morning when his father was taking him home after his bail.
Outraged, Rabbi's fellow inmates attacked the policemen when the law enforcers fired 13 rounds, leaving centre super Mohammad Shahabuddin and two juveniles -- Raihan and Rubel -- injured.
After the incident, additional director of the department of social services Mohammad Shahjahan and additional police super of Jessore KM Ariful Haque visited the correctional centre in the evening. After interrogating the centre inmates and policemen, they found that the law enforcers were at fault. Later, the additional SP ordered withdrawal of the policemen.     ?UNB
