Jamaat-e-Islami's hartal has forced authorities to reschedule various examinations, including university admissions tests.
All the examinations under the National University (NU), scheduled to be held on Thursday, Sunday and Monday, have been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. Fresh dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later.
Chittagong University authorities also rescheduled its examinations for the three days.
The intake tests under 'G' unit will be held on Friday instead of Thursday while that of 'E' unit on November 4 instead of November 2 and Sunday's examinations will be held on November 6, said CU deputy registrar Farhad Hossain Khan.
Khulna University decided to take its admissions tests for first year honours courses on Friday and Saturday.
As per the new timetables, admissions tests for Arts, Humanities, Social Science and Zoology will be held on Friday while that for Management and Business Administration, Science, Engineering and Technology School, Fine Arts on Saturday.
Although the examinations of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) are scheduled to begin on November 2, the government has not yet taken any decision to defer the examinations till filing this report.
