Three secretaries and a joint secretary have replied to the show-cause notice over committing fraud to get freedom-fighter credentials.
Public Administration Ministry's Additional Secretary Md Shahjahan Ali Molla said on Tuesday they received the explanations from the four.
"The senior secretary to the ministry is now abroad. He will brief you on the issue once he returns," he said.
On Oct 13, the ministry served show-cause notices on Health Secretary M Niaz Uddin Miah, Public Service Commission Secretary AKM Amir Hossain, former Liberation War Affairs Secretary KH Masud Siddique, currently OSD (officer on special duty), and the same ministry's Joint Secretary Abul Kasem Talukder, also an OSD.
They were asked to come up with explanations within 10 working days.
On Sept 14, the government decided to revoke certificates of five public servants, including former PMO Secretary Molla Waheeduzzaman, now chairman of the Privatisation Commission
However, on Sept 22, the Liberation War affairs ministry said Waheeduzzaman's certificate was 'withheld' and not cancelled. No show-cause notice was issued to Waheeduzzaman.
It had then issued orders of cancelling freedom fighters' credentials of the four bureaucrats and wrote to the public administration ministry to take official measures against them. ?bdnews24.com
