The date for beginning of arguments in the RADAR purchase corruption case against former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad and others has been shifted to November 13.
The judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court, Md Jahurul Haque on Thursday set the date of beginning arguments following a time prayer submitted by the state side.
The other two accused in this case, two former Air Chiefs- Sultan Mahmud and Mamtajuddin Ahmed were present in the court.
The then president Ershad in connivance with other accused purchased RADAR for Air force from Westing Company of USA with higher price over taking lower rate of Thompson CSF Company of France.
As a result the government incurred a loss of taka 64 crore 4 lakh 42 thousand nine hundred eighteen. In this Connection the then Bureau of Anti Corruption filed a case on May 4 in 1992 with the Cantonment police station.
