5 Bangladeshis killed in Makka road accident

At least seven people, including five Bangladeshi expatriates have been killed in a road accident at Jebel Noor area in Saudi Arabia's Makka city on Wednesday morning.

The identities of the Bangladeshis deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident happened at about 8am on Wednesday.

Though most of the deceased hailed from Chittagong, their identities could not be ascertained till filing this report at about 6.40pm.

When contacted, an official of the Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia, said: "We have heard about the incident. Five Bangladeshi expatriates and two Saudi Arabian nationals have been killed in the road accident. But, we cannot provide detailed information in this regard right now."

"We have already sent a team to the spot to enquire about the incident. Detailed information of the accident will be made public after receiving information from the inspection team."
