
He appealed to his party men to foil it.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a rally by his party's city committee to mark its 42nd founding anniversary at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
Hasanul Huq Inu said that by defeating the patron of war criminals and militants, Khaleda Zia, has been kept out of the power orbit. But the same Khaleda and her militant accomplices were conspiring again.
"They had failed to establish an unnatural and usurper government on January 5 by subverting the poll. Their conspiratorial politics has failed. If the struggle for social change was to materialize then these conspiracies had to be faced head-on, '" he said.
Chaired by the coordinator of the Dhaka city unit, Mir Hossain Akhter, the meeting was also addressed by the general secretary of JSD, Sharif Nurul Ambia and Shirin Akhter, MP, also a central leader of the party.
"No militant or pro-militant leaders would be allowed to engage in politics", the minister said. "JSD feels that militancy and its patrons are enemies of history, religion, Islam, Liberation War, democracy and economy and therefore it was the challenge that the party had to face," he said.
The information minister said "When militants and war criminals were out to destabilize society JSD was committed to continue its struggle for social change fighting military rule, militancy and communal forces. The 14-party alliance and the current Mahajote government was a result of such a movement. But the struggle continues for social change."
He said, "If Bangladesh society, economy, democracy, religion and Islam were to remain secure militants must be curbed and Khaleda Zia who patronizes militancy must be kept outside politics."
Describing Khaleda Zia and her party BNP as enemies of democracy, Hasanul Huq Inu said, "They must be defeated at any cost."
"If militancy is the country's number one problem, its patron, Khaleda Zia is the number two problem," he said.
He called upon his party to continue the struggle for social change and an equitable society by confronting the militants first.
