LAXMIPUR: Police recovered the hanging body of a woman at Janata Bazar area in Sadar upazila on Monday night.

The dead was identified as Habiba Akhter, 19, wife of Razzak.

The victim’s father Abdul Aziz said, Razzak, his mother and his brother often beat up Habiba for dowry. His alleged that Razzak’s mother and brother beat up Habiba at night and later hanged the body.

Md Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station said, on information, they recovered the body and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue.
