National Professor Salahuddin Ahmed was laid to rest at his father's grave at Banani graveyard with state honour on Sunday evening.

Namaz-e-Janaza for the renowened historian was held at Dhaka University Central Mosque after Asar prayers.

Earlier, the body of professor Salahuddin was  taken to the DU mosque at about 4:20pm from Central Shaheed Minar where people of all walks of life paid their last respect to him.

Dr Salahuddin died of old age complications on Sunday morning at his Banani residence at the age of 92.
