Airport armed police on Thursday morning detained the ringleader of stealing luggage syndicate from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.
The arrestee was identified as Joynal Abedin, 55, son of Abdus Salam, a resident of Dakkhinkhan Police Station, hailed from Lakshmipur village under Chouddagram Upazila of Comilla district.
He was arrested from one number canopy area of the airport around 10:00am the morning, senior assistant police super of airport armed police Alamgir Hossain said.
Joynal was arrested several times in the past as was accused of many cases including stealing one truck goods from the airport godown in 2012, he said adding that after freeing from the jail obtaining bails, he again got himself engaged in the misdeeds.
He is now being interrogated by the armed police battalion.
Filing of a case in this regard is underway.   ?BSS
