Fazlul Karim, currently serving as Bangladesh Amba-ssador to Mexico, has been appointed as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to China, a Foreign Office release said.
Karim belongs to the 1984 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre Service. In his notable diplomatic career, he served in Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) in New York, Bangladesh Embassy in Jakarta, Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC, Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad and Bangladesh Consulate General in Hong Kong in various capacities. He also served as Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
The career diplomat obtained his graduate and post-graduate degree from the Dhaka University, International Relations Department.
Fazlul Karim attended a number of overseas training programmes on International Law, International Development Issues, Peace Keeping Operation, Commercial Representation and Law of the Seas at various reputed institutes. 
He is married and blessed with two sons and a daughter.
