Nine rock music bands from five South Asian countries will perform at a mega concert in the city. The concert will be held on October 24 at the Army Stadium in the capital. Bondhu Package of Grameenphone will organise the concert. The concert will feature a number of local bands---Warfaze, Aurthoheen, Nemesis, Shunno and Arbovirus, along with Colour Compound from India, Kaya from Pakistan, Albatross from Nepal and Stigma from Sri Lanka.
Among the Bangladeshi bands, Warfaze is one of the recognised bands. The group consists of lead vocalist Mizan Rahman, Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal (lead guitar), Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu (drums and percussion), Shams Mansoor Ghani (keyboards and vocals), Naim Haque Roger (bass), and Oni Hasan (lead guitar). Since their inception, the band has released eight albums, including seven studio albums and one compilation album.
Nemesis is a Bangladeshi alternative rock band formed in 1999. They perform in country and abroad. They have released two studio albums. Their second album titled "Tritio Jatra" was released in 2011.
Aurthohin is a hard rock and metal band formed in 1998 by singer and lyricist Sumon. The band are known for their mix of melodic acoustic numbers and extremely heavy metal numbers in their albums. They have released six albums. Their current line-up is Sumon on vocals and bass, Rafa on vocals and drums, and Shishir on guitar and keyboard. In 2014, after Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal Ahmed left the band, Kazi Faysal Ahmed from Metal Maze has been playing with Aurthohin as well as a guest guitar player.
