Monsoon to leave Bangladesh in next 36 hours

The south-west monsoon (rain) may withdraw from Bangladesh within the next 36 hours, according to a forecast by Met office.

Besides, the night temperature may fall gradually over the next 72 hours.

It indicates the advent of winter.

In its forecast, the Met office said on Wednesday that light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions over the next 24 hours ending 9am on Thursday.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The forecast said that the depression over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Eastern Uttar Pradesh moved in a north-northeastwards and has become weaken and unimportant. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.

The maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius was recorded in Sylhet, while the minimum 22.6 degree Celsius in Rangpur on Wednesday.
