The Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC) will hold a meeting on October 24.
 
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is also the President of the party, will chair the meeting at her official Ganabhaban residence at 6:30pm, said in a press release on Tuesday.

The ALCWC, the highest decision-making body of the ruling party,  is likely to decide Abdul Latif Siddique's removal from the party after receiving the reply from the show cause notice served on Siddique, it is learnt.

On October 12, the ALCWC at a meeting decided to remove Latif Siddique as the presidium member of the party for hurting the religious sentiment of the people.
 
At the meeting the ALCWC also suspended his primary membership of the party and served Siddique a show cause notice to explain why his primary membership of the party would not be cancelled. According to the party constitution, Siddique has to give reply in seven days.

Earlier, Latif Siddique was formally fired as the Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister.

AL General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam urged all the ALCWC members to attend the meeting in time.
