The Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC), the highest decision-making body of the ruling party, will hold a meeting after Eid on October 12.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is also the President of the party, will chair the meeting at her official Ganabhaban residence at 6:00pm.
The ALCWC is set to decide Latif Siddique's fate in the party. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has hinted that Siddique's primary membership will also be cancelled as Siddique has triggered off a controversy across the country through his comments against Hajj and Tablig.
About the expulsion of Siddique from the party, Sheikh Hasina said in a press briefing on Friday that ALCWC would take the decision whether Siddique would retain his party position.
"I believe no member of my party's working committee will oppose the decision to remove him," she said.
However, the country's socio-political and economic situation is also expected to come up discussion, said AL insiders.
AL General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam urged all the ALCWC members to attend the meeting in time.
