Bangladesh Government Employees Coordination Council on Saturday criticised Finance Minister AMA Muhith for announcing that the new pay scale for government employees will come into effect from July next.
The Minister's announcement created a lot of confusion and disappointment among the government employees as the new pay scale, which will be formally announced in July next year, was expected to take a retrospective effect from July this year, said the statement.
The Council warned that it will wage a strong movement if the government fails to put the pay scale into effect from July this year.
