Srijonshil Sahitya-Sangskritik Sanghathan organised a musical soiree and discussion in the memory of the recently deceased journalist and organiser Kishore Kumar. The programme was held at Music and Dance Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the city.
Public Administration Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury was present as chief guest at the programme. Poet Asad Chowdhury, poet Muhammad Nurul Huda, Sohorab Uddin, director of the Shilpakala Academy, were present as special guests at the programme. Poet and lyricist Nasir Ahmed presided over the event. Poet Hasan Mahmud, president of Shapnakuri delivered the welcome speech at the programme. The speakers talked about Kishore's life and contributions to cultural arena.
Nazrul singer Yasmin Mustari, folk singer Bishwajit Roy and some promising singers performed at the musical soiree. Poets Kumar Chokroborty, Shamimul Haque Shamim, Rahman Henri, Junan Nashit, Tapan Bagchi, Rahima Afroz Munni, Alpha Parbeen and others recited at the event.
