RANGPUR, Sept 18: Speakers at a discussion on Thursday highly appreciated the role of the Underprivileged Children's Educational Programmes (UCEP-Bangladesh) in producing skilled manpower for the local industries, factories and enterprises. Like other regional institutions of UCEP, its Rangpur Technical School has been providing technical education and training on various trades to underprivileged working children successfully to assist them in getting jobs to change their fortune, they said. They were addressing the discussion organised by Rangpur Regional UCEP Office under its Employment Support Service Component at UCEP-Rangpur Regional Complex auditorium here in observance of the UCEP Employers' Day-2014. Former Vice-president of FBCCI and its incumbent Director Alhaj Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu attended and addressed the occasion as the chief guest with Rangpur Regional Coordinator of UCEP-Bangladesh SM Shameem Ahsan in the chair. President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Chairperson of Rangpur Regional UCEP Employers' Committee Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu and Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostoba Hossain Ripan addressed as the special guests. RCCI Directors Fazlul Haque, Shah Mohammad Selim, Managing Director of 'Vinnojagat' tourist spot SM Kamal, Secretary General of City Shop Owners' Association Rezaul Islam Milan, Manager of the Employment Support Service Component of UCEP Mohammad Zia Ansari and Rangpur Divisional Coordinator of UCEP-Bangladesh Kazi Galib Hossain, addressed. Employers, officials, executives and leaders of RCCI, owners, proprietors and executives of different industries, companies, factories and enterprises from all over Rangpur region, social workers and students of UCEP technical school were present. Regional Coordinator of UCEP-Bangladesh SM Shameem Ahsan narrated UCEP activities in transforming underprivileged working children into productive human resources through technical and vocational education and training on various trades. The speakers lauded UCEP and urged its authorities for giving maximum efforts in developing more innovative programmes with newer technologies to provide technical and vocational education and training to more underprivileged working children. They expressed confidence in the abilities of UCEP to meet new challenges and hoped that the underprivileged children of the whole Rangpur region would avail opportunities being provided by UCEP in the coming days. ?BSS
