Young software engineer Ariful Hasan Opu started the first health portal Doctorsbd.com in 2005. The portal helps people to explore the health service related information. He talked about different issues on their initiatives recently
Observer: When you thought about to do something virtual for health sector in the country?
Ariful Hasan: I stayed in abroad for higher studies for a few years. There I found something good in health service better than us. I started my business with e-Soft in 2003. I thought to do something for the mass in the country. Then I started my journey with doctorsbd.com.
Observer: How Doctorsbd will support us?
Ariful: Doctorsbd is always ready with all kind of information related to health service. Firstly, anyone should find out the special category of physicians. Then he or she gets all of the doctor's information in the relative field. We have the largest database of blood donors of the country.
Observer: Other initiatives from your side?
Ariful Hasan: We are working to develop Doctorsbd as the largest helth portal of the country. We believe none bounce from here. We have a database of blood donors across the country. We are working on e-journal application that can help our medical researchers to compete at international level.
Observer: Say about the current status of software market in the country.
Ariful Hasan : There are many companies are working to train up young programmers. That is good news for us. The software market is ready to boost up the local economy. Hope the sector will be an industry within a short time.
