Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's acting ameer Makbul Ahmed has demanded immediate release of the party's Nayeb-e-Ameer Moulana Delwar Hossain Sayeedi.

The demand was made in a statement sent to the mass media on Tuesday evening.

Makbul Ahmed said, "Maulana Sayeedi is a victim of government's political vengeance. He has been kept inside jail for a long time on the basis of the depositions of fake witnesses bringing false and imaginative charges against him. Moulana Sayeedi should be freed right now. We strongly urge the government to release Sayeedi as soon as possible."

He also sought blessings of all so that Delwar Hossain Sayeedi doesn't become the victim of any injustice of the government.
