Senior Vice-Chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman and acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were sued with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Monday in Dhaka in a defamation case for allegedly making derogatory remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. AB Siddique, president of Bangladesh Jononetri Parishad, a pro-Awami League organisation, filed the case with the CMM court on Monday morning. After recording the statements of the complainant, Metropolitan Magistrate Md Erfan Ullah ordered the Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Paltan Police Station to submit a report by investigating the matter within October 20. According to petition, on August 24, BNP leader Tarique Rahman, at a seminar at Queen Mary University in London, said, "Awami League leaders are black sheep and Sheikh Hasina is the leader of black sheep party".
