Chandpur, Aug 31: A clinker-laden vessel that sunk in the Meghna River in Chandpur on Aug 26 has been located after five days. However, BIWTA officials say chances of recovering MV Chitalmari is slim as there are no rescue ships that can pull up a vessel weighing 1,500 tonnes. BIWTA's Deputy Director Md Mobarak Hossain said the vessel was located at the spot it had gone down at Chandpur's Puranbazar Harisabha. "The owners located it 110 feet underwater using local technology," he said. MV Chitalmari, weighing 1,300 tonnes, sunk after an oil tanker, MV Hikmat, rammed into it. ?bdnews24.com
